TO:  Anyone With "Bad" Water Problems
SUBJECT:  The Water Mechanic:  The Answer to Your Problems

Six months ago we could not have realized the difference a water filtration system could make in our home. As I sit here drinking the best cup of coffee in the county (pure H20), I'll tell you a little about the changes that have occurred. Thanks to The Water Mechanic we are saving money;  by using less cleaning products (detergent for laundry, liquid soap for dishes, abrasives for tub, shower & toilet) and saving precious time; no hard water, therefore  no hard water stains & white residue to scrub every day.   Daily bathing or taking a shower has turned out to be a  pleasure.  The water is just soooo soft and gentle.  We have nicknames for each other:  Mr. and Mrs. Fluffy!!!  We would be happy to speak with anyone interested, either about our system installed by   The Water Mechanic, his excellent service, or the benefits of now having "good" water.

We built a new home in Rock Hill in1990. Shortly after we realized that our  dishes were coming out of the dishwasher with a very scratchy texture, almost as if they had been through a sandblaster. Other problems also began to occur concerning our water quality. The shower heads developed calcium deposits and our water began to smell of sulfur. After a period of time we became annoyed with these problems and began calling companies who provided water filtration systems.

The first company sent a very nice woman, who tried to sell us a very expensive system which we felt we could not afford. The second company sent a high pressure salesman, which we do not condone at any price. The third company we called was a company called The Water Mechanic, owned and operated by Ron McAfee. He was very thorough in testing our water. We told him of our water problems and the terrible sulfur odor. He gave his recommendation for a filtration system which consists of a softening unit for our hard water problem and a carbon filter unit for our sulfur problem. These two units are under the house. Since we drink water each day, we also decided to install the Hydrotech Reverse Osmosis Purification System which Ron recommended.  He installed it under my kitchen sink with a sculptured faucet at the sink for pure water and a pure water connection to the refrigerator.

We have been very pleased with these systems and with the excellent service that Ron has provided for us. He gave us a price that we could live with and on the very few times we have had to call him about a problem, he responded immediately. We find the quality of Ron's system excellent and the quality of Ron's service
is above average. We think the world of Ron McAfee. It is a comfort to know that there still are people out there who take pride in their product and there jobs.

Thank you Ron for being there for us.

"We had been dealing with water problems at our residence for over 18 years.   The heavy content of  iron in our water caused unsightly staining of clothes when washed, rapid buildup of residue on  our fixtures, sinks, and baths, and added a distasteful flavor to drinks made with our water.  We tried several alternatives over the years with only limited success.  Ron (owner/operator) evaluated our problem and offered a number of solutions, clearly explaining each  alternative, the associated costs, and the risks with each.  We appreciated his honesty and concern.   His first alternative was chosen and has proven most effective.  For the first time in 18 years, we have crystal clear water, no aftertaste, clean fixtures and baths, and our white/light-colored clothes look great after washing..  We wished we would have found The Water Mechanic YEARS ago!"

"The Water Mechanic", Ron McAfee has been an invaluable resource over the past year in solving our reoccurring well water problem. DHEC first tested our well water and reported that we "Just had bad water". Not satisfied with this answer Ron was contacted and analyzed our well which resulted in the detection of bacterial contamination, which was a direct result of substandard well construction. Over this period of time I had many questions and concerns that Ron answered whenever I talked with him whether it was day or night, weekday or weekend. You could not imagine how comforting it was to have someone as knowledgeable about well water on your side. Ron always hit the nail right on the head when it came to diagnosing and fixing the well, which was a lot more than the folks that enforce the drinking water standards could do. Not only did Ron analyze the problem and fix it, he explained to me and my wife what was going on with our well so that we would be informed, as well as educated about what we were going through. I hate that we had a problem with our well, but I am extremely glad that Ron McAfee was contacted to fix the problem. Ron we could not thank you enough for all your help with our well water situation.

I would like to express my satisfaction with the water softener system you installed at Betterwash & Quick Lube in Fort Mill, SC.   It has dramatically improved the water quality at our carwash.  Cars are noticeably cleaner, with no spotting on the cars after they dry.  The commercial system you installed has been problem-free, and when we had questions about the system, we appreciated your fast response and quick service.

Sincerely, Jerry W. Brown, Manager.
